The creation of this series started out during the Vietnam War and finished during the COVID years.
The Strange Moons Collection, are reworkings of paintings that I made in my grandmother’s basement in 1968. I hand built a spray paint machine. It started out as the American flag, deconstructed. This was during the Vietnam War.
Working from these paintings I created this series while we were all stuck inside during the first few years of COVID. This work is reflecting the tension between seeking order and making sense while chaotic events of the world happen.
